What is trauma?
Trauma is a word used to describe our body and minds (wholeceptive) unproceessed response to an event or situation. Very often when we talk about trauma, we are referring to "negative" stuff that happened when we were children, such as being left alone or domestic violence. This is because children can experience events that surprise or shock them and due to their brains not being fully matured and developed, they are unable to healthily feel and release the emotion and the body hen holds onto that emotion until it is looked at, embraced and released. So Trauma in and of itself is not "bad" however life surely becomes easier and more fluid when the trauma is not there. The fact is that most , if not the vast majority of people have some form of trauma within their energetic emotional and mental experiences. For some people, their trauma is very obvious, showing in the way they engage with others and can be clearly visible on their reactions to everyday triggers such as traffic jams, things not going "right" etc , for others, trauma is more subtle or hidden, appearing only in specific circumstances that are connected to the event or not showing any overt signs at all yet still sitting somewhere in the recesses or the persons energetic field. So essentially trauma is someting that is basically universal and extremely widespread, yet for some people it can severly impact their experience of life and for others it is barely an issue, which brings us to the question of this post, being
Is it actually bad?
However much trauma actually impacts our life and however debilitating and painful the experience and I really empathize with the suffering of people going strong manifestations of it, when we zoom out and look at the "whole" picture of the entirety of the human experience, we get to see that trauma, however intense, however painful, however long or short we've experienced it for, is actually messages. Deep, profound messages, full of information, and it is there to help us. I know this sounds crazy and perhaps even disrespectful at first but I guarantee that when you explore the trauma deeply, truthfully and organically, you will see it was at the core, there is nothing wrong. When the resistance and "pushing away" of the emotion or sensation disappears, it turns from hell, suffering and misery into an "annoyance" and then into nothing. We may not know what the information is or why we are feeling it but all it wants is for us to listen and to integrate it into our whole experience, in other words, not to get rid of it but to listen and feel it.
So the answer to the blog question is No! Trauma is not bad
the reality is that most of us have some form of trauma in our minds and bodies and the reality is that it is not "Bad" - we are the ones who label it as bad and then we get into a cycling of trying to get rid of it and fighting it and smoking and drugging ourselves out of it forgetting that actually all it once is to be heard and the funny thing is that once we actually deeply listen to it and realize that we don't need to get rid of it, that is when it goes away! It's weird but true- Once we no longer want to get rid of it , that's when it goes!
